Current Fees, Fellowships & Opportunities for
Financial Assistance

Several forms of financial assistance are available to graduate students at UCR, including fellowships, appointments as a teaching assistant (TA) or graduate student researcher (GSR), and tuition and fee grants. Academic departments award TAs, GSRs, and tuition and fee grants. Departments nominate students for fellowships based on the information in their graduate application and supporting documentation. Many fellowships offer multiple years of support, combining fellowship and TA and/or GSR. Other forms of support are need-based and administered through the Office of Financial Aid. If you desire information on need-based financial assistance, please contact the Office of Financial Aid.

The deadline for applicants seeking admission and fellowship consideration is January 5 (some departments have even earlier deadlines--please check with them for verification). Fellowship applications are usually considered once a year, during the winter quarter, and awards are made for the following academic year.
